What racial slur did ESPN make about Jeremy Lin?

I seriously doubt it was a racial slur. A c-h-i-n-k is "a narrow opening or crack, typically one that admits light."

One of those in the armor refers to a way for the enemy to get through.

I have used the phrase "c-h-i-n-k in the armor" many times. It's part of my vocabulary but now some people don't want me to use it! I am not inclined to back down that easily. Why should I not use a word with a good English meaning?

What may have happened is the ESPN writer was also familiar with the phrase and realized that he was writing about an Asian person but used it anyway. He may have wanted to draw attention to the fact that we are using a word which some people find offensive.

So are we all no longer using the word?

I do not think it was meant to be a racial slur. Jeremy Lin is amazing and the world is watching him.

He is getting a following like a rock star. So it didn't hurt his popularity.

I honestly wouldn't know because there were so many which is ashame. I think one was: "***** in armor"

The headline on their site was '***** in armor'
