When will Don Cherry stop giving props to the Canadian Troops?

I love Coaches Corner but Im tired of him always giving credit to our troops who fought in Vietnam 2.0 aka Iraq. Im ashamed that my troops gave their lives for America just so they can have more foregin oil instead of drilling it themselves. Think of all the wasted talent we use in our military that could go to helping Canada build a hockey league superiour to that of the NHL.

Who is going to win Canada's Cup in the NHL Playoffs?

Hopefully we have seen the last of it. Its Hockey Night in Canada not some veterans day memorial service where he can win favour with hia crocodile tears. Honestly there is a time and place and that aint it. Tax dollars at waste.

Cherry remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. Canadian Troops are in Afghanistan at the request of the Afghan government to help in an uprising against a duly elected government. NATO requested Canada to send troops to aid in the reconstruction and restoration of safety in the country. Since 2002 158 Canadian military personnel and 4 Canadian civilians have died due to activities associated with that occupation.

Don pays homage to those people.

As a friend to many who have been deployed in Afghanistan, I appreciate Don's appreciation. It has been a while since I stood on a bridge over the Highway of Heroes and I hope it will be a long time until I do so again. But when the need comes you will find me standing at attention saluting the heroes as they pass by.

  • Canada didn't fight in Iraq, Don is giving 'props' to those who fought and died in Afghanistan.

Your comment about using the \talent' in the military to build a 'superior' league is just nonsense.

Cherry doesn't encourage any wars, he just wants people to remember that, want to or not, our boys are out there fighting for our country, and that deserves recognition, 10 times out of 10

There are so many flaws in this post, I don't even know where to begin.... you need to start reading more books and watching the news, you give Canada a bad image

  • You should check out your history and politics. I think you mean AFGHANISTAN not Iraq. I do think your logic is a little warped.

  • Never he thinks it make him a patriot
