Microsoft Silverlight?
Heya all,
Something has cropped up on the programs list on my pc, which was apparently installed a few days ago called Microsoft Silverlight.
Does anyone know what this is? And whether it is important or not? (because I wish to remove it if not)

It's not at all important.
It's a plug-in needed to play some web videos audios. None uses this to make videos played except Microsoft for the obvious reasons. All others use flash videos and most likely you have Adobe flash player installed on your system. You can remove Silverlight.
