problems with weslo spinning bikes? anyone?

the on the wheel bent the first time i used it and cant get anyone to answer at "customer service "

they put you on hold for hours ,no matter when you call anyone have same problems?

Update:

bikeworks thanks for your input .but the part that broke, the front wheel axle was already assembled and the the main frame was already put together in the box, all i had to assemble was handle bars and seat basically the axle was apparently cheap to bend like it did. also some of the bearings came out. from what i read about weslo its a very bad company i filled out a customer service request on line and they basically said to write the part # down so i can fix it myself, screw that that is bad customer relations and just plain lazy.

Weslo is the "department store" version, designed by the same people that do Proform and some other names you'd probably recognize.

If the unit failed the first time you used it, I'm sorry to say it probably wasn't the fault of the machine BUT I'm not ruling that out. Not yet.

As the assembly instructions state, you are not to return the unit to the place of purchase and are instead to call the customer service number which you correctly state takes f o r e v e r for anyone to help. Your better option is to complete a service request online.

Having done in-facility service and assembly of that stuff for a long time I can tell you that assembly errors make up for nearly all "first time use" failures. The most common issue is that something was installed backwards or upside down (yes, upside down believe it or not) or that the assembler tightened something that seemed too loose from the factory, or perhaps overtightened something that they assembled.

The company will likely provide you with replacement parts free of charge, depending on the part it could take hours to repair whether you or a technician does it. They usually arrive within a week or being ordered. Even a visiting technician will have to order the parts and return when they arrive- they don't stock parts.

So, I strongly suggest that you carefully go over the assembly USING THE PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS and see if there was an error in it's completion. If not, thats great but I am betting on it.

Don't take this as an insult- I've screwed up my share of assemblies and I do it for a living!
