how to get closer to a guy who knows you?

I don't know if it's possible to love someone who doesn't love you back, but there's this guy. And he is so sweet and so kind, and so gorgeous! He isn't like normal guys. He doesn't car about being "cool". He's just... normal. Perfect. He's tan, and has darkish brown hair and dark brown eyes. And we were both on the cross-country team in 2011's fall, so we definetly know each other. He's going to the high school next year, so i wont see him. hes in my 1st period computer class. How do i get him to be close friends with me so that he can see my personality and maybe start to like me?
