Try these steps, hope they will help you:

    1. Copy all your files and documents to an external storage device.

    2. Shut down the computer.

    3. Turn the PC back on and hit the F8 or F11 depending on brand key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears.

    4. Click "Repair Your Computer" if you are not already on it and then press ENTER

    5. choose your country and click OK

    6. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "Restore Application" which is the last option.

    7. Follow the on-screen instructions

    8. When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery"

    9. "Next"

    10. Click "Yes"

    11. you will notice for a while it seems like nothing is happening, give it some time.

    12. After some minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish

turn off your laptop, remove cover from HDD, take remove HDD and plug it to other computer/laptop -fully format HDD, in your laptop remove RAM and battery - internal battery - look like watch battery just a bit bigger leave it for some time -15min then place RAM back, battery back and last thing insert your format HDD back, ready to install your system, this total wipe out - none will remain.

    Good luck

Each manufacturer has a different method for factory restoring. Usually there is a special key or key combo you press during bootup to access the restore partition, you need provide the basic details - make model operating system etc if we are to help you any further, alternatively the details should be in the instruction manual

Once you've removed all your data to another disk you should overwrite the disk - fill it with, say, video files. Then delete these.

A normal delete doesn't get rid of the data, it just alters index entries to allow the space to be reused. Someone wanting to see what was on the laptop can do so using one of a number of undelete programs. So, if you overwrite all of the "empty" laptop disk with video this is what they will find if they undelete.

    Don't.

If you have applications installed on the machine, what good does it do you to get rid of them?

You might as well leave them.

The only thing you really need to do is delete your personal files, which you can do by just deleting your user name, and deleting any other directories you stored stuff in.

With most computers, you need the original CD in order to reinstall.

And a restore won't actually delete any files at all, but simply make them no longer visible.

If you accidentally wipe out the special drivers for the particular laptop, you could easily make it essentially worthless.
