Weights every other day. Give your muscles a chance to build up. Long runs MWF and Weights and Pushups T Th S. Sunday day of rest. Rome wasn't built in a day. And truthfully, most folks are not preparing themselves at all. But you want to get ahead, promoted before others, keep working out! Good luck, you are off to a great start.

You can do pushups, sit-ups, and run everyday. You'll be doing it everday when you get to basic. Either way you'll be ready by the time it matters. Weights wont really help with pushups because pushups measure muscle endurance. Do rest on sunday. That's also what you'll do in basic. For situps just do situps. if youll be in the gym work on your legs and abs because that is a big part of the run also. For the run just run your *** off. If you do all of this for the next two weeks you'll be good for basic. Your first pt test will be like 2 or 3 weeks into basic and will only consist of 1 minute of pushups and situps and the 1 mile run. Good luck!

I would be practicing as hard as I could BEFORE you go to bmt because then meeting the requirements at basic will be that much easier. You only have 18 days so you don't have much time to really get your body ready, but just going out and exercising every day and getting into the routine helps immensely. Don't forget to go jogging as well. I took about an hour a day to train for about 3 weeks and I was able to go from barely passing the entrance requirements for Air Force to passing the graduation requirements with flying colors.
You don't want to hurt yourself but you do want to get sore. That tells you that you're actually working and furthering yourself. for a few days before you ship out, don't exercise unless you really want to. Those days are really your last days in a decent world so rest, relax, and have your last bits of fun before you get thrust into the culture shock that is Basic.
Congratulations on your decision and ability to serve our military. :)

Depends what branch. I would start off every other day then as time gets closer push your self. Remember the harder you work now the easier boot will be. But your body needs time to heal and adapt to your routines so I def. would start off slow, don't want to hurt yourself. Good luck
