Is Kelly tighlman the John madden of golf?

For Someone that played at the level she achieved I'm bothered by her lack if insight. I'd like to see her replaced by either someone who knows nothing like rush limbaugh or by someone with some real offerings like one of the harmons. And if it's just the eye candy they want how about Lauren Thompson or win Mcmurray? But this overstating the obvious and poor approach to tough interviews has made me want to quit listening and watch on mute, or take a dump during her monologues.

Now that my rant is over, who would you replace her with? Or if you like her, why? What does she offer that you like?

I think it's her role in the telecast that causes issues. They have Faldo, Maltby, Baker-Finch and many other experts. Not saying that she isn't one herself, just that she's being underutilized, or they're worried she'd be stepping on the guys' toes by opening up more. To me, it feels like the Golf Channel wants her to be the female version of Jim Nantz. I do get why so many people don't like her, I just think it's more the producer's fault than her own.

She's hosted Golf Channel Academy episodes that I've really liked. She allows the pro to express themselves, cleans up stuff that might be confusing to the audience and can drive conversations forward. It's almost like she's asked to be two different people, depending on what platform she's currently standing.

I usually end up muting the sound during golf telecasts because of the stupid things most of the announcers say. You can just watch the golfers and their swings.

This brings to mind those new golf talk shows like "Morning Drive" and Mr. Feherty's show. What is the point of these programs? I don't want to hear about golf personalities or human interest stories. All I want are golf telecasts and the excellent(for the most part) golf instructional shows.

I realize golf shows(especially if they are shown on one of the three networks) must have good ratings or the networks will lose money. But these new talk shows are on the golf channel.

There were a couple of British announcers back in the 70's and 80's, but I can't remember their names. They were actually worth listening to.

Awww... the "eye candy" factor. Kelly is reading the prompts from set writers. I have met Kelly Tilghmen in person and she is personable and has knowledge on the sport of golf. I would rather listen to her then Mark Rolfing, for the record I would replace Kelly with Danica Patrick. "Phil 's rear was a little loose coming outta that shot and that gave the advantage to Bubba to get under him and put Phil into the wall."
