Question about betta fish tank setup?

If i have a betta fish tank (http://fishworld.com.au/297-281-thickbox/betta-aqu... that exact tank, and plan to put gravel, one plastic plant in what would be better a ghost shrimp or a snail to eat the alge? I need something that won't kill each other and can both fit into the same tank.

Both would be faster at cleaning and everything else should be fine.

regular water changes will be more valuable to keeping algae under control than adding any animal for that purpose. A lot will depend on how aggressive your betta is. they naturally eat small invertebrates so can harass even larger snails to the point that they die.
