Do any .40 S&W loading's mimic .357 SIG loading's?

I have heard that some .135 grain .40 S&W loading's are nearly identical to some .125 .357 SIG loadings, is this correct?

Yes it does. Go to the double tap website and you'll find that it is about 15 ft. lbs. short of the 357 Sig load.

But the 40 S&W was never intended to be a high performance cartridge. It was meant to be a rock steady medium bore self defense round and fill in the need for the "41 Special" that we always wanted. Basically a modern day 38-40.

If you're looking for a fire breather in a defensive handgun, look to the 10mm 135 grain load from Double Tap. This load will exceed the 357 Sig load by almost 200 ft. lbs of energy.
