In New Orleans, the Hyatt Regency or the JW Marriott?

I am going to book a room for my family and I to go on vacation. We have friends in the city. I am looking for a hotel that will be close to the French Quarter, but I want a hotel that is seriously top notch. I haven't stayed at a JW Marriott but I know that Hyatt's are usually top notch with their service. I will be getting a room with 2 beds on an executive level. I am leaning more towards the Hyatt...help please!

The JW Marriott is very nice and close to the Quarter and river. It's across Canal St. from the Quarter, which is not a big deal. What's 6 lanes of slow traffic to cross with dozens of other people? The Hyatt on Iberville is in the middle of the Quarter, also very nice. You'll enjoy either place, but the one in the Quarter is going to be older and more charming. JWM is more modern.
