How to hook up 4 channel amp?

I have a dual XPA 4640 4 channel amp that is hooked up but not working with my woofer. I put the amp on channel 2 and 4 so I tried many combination of -2 and 4, 2 and -4 etc. I tried the other two channels and that doesn't work, the amp lights up red, but the green light never comes on, and no sound. How exactly do I set this up, it's so annoying because I set it up fine in my other vehicle.

Update:

It's hard to find a ground, I have been using where the tailgate locks in. It's a temporary spot to just get it working but it's hard to find a ground on my Grand Cherokee.

It has got to be a bad ground, that is why it is in Protection Mode. Find a more bare and stable ground, that should do the trick.
