Why is losing so frustrating?
I hate losing. Whenever I lose a competition that I care about, I get upset. By upset I don't mean start throwing things and stuff--I still treat people with courtesy, but I become obsessed with the object around which the competition was oriented.
For example, after losing a Latin quiz bowl competition that I feel like I should have won, I have become virtually obsessed with memorizing everything about everything concerning Latin. Normally I really don't care about such things, but as soon as it becomes a competition, I take an interest. As soon as I lose, I become obsessed.
Can anyone explain why this happens (the obsession, not losing)?

I believe it's because you feel it was your place to win.. you truly believe that
Naturally it isn't unusual for someone to become fixated about something especially if it's that type of conflict.
