Similar to Catcher in the Rye?

Read Catcher in the Rye last month, and then read it again I loved it so much.

It is the single best book I have ever read and I just dont know how to put it into words what a great book it is.

Would appreciate if someone could recommend something similar.

Many thanks

Mr.Was by pete hautman. It's a really good book.

I know I've read more books that are similar to catcher in the rye, I just can't think of any off the top of my head. Sorry.

The Catcher in the Rye: Shmoop Study Guide JD Salinger's passing made me want to revisit Catcher in the Rye, which I loved when I read the first time. But when I read it the first time, I wasn't sure I got as much out of the book as it was offering - in other words, there were lots of layers for readers to uncover. Shmoop's guide was just what I needed to take my understanding to a deeper level. The guide is obviously written by someone who loves the book and has a very valuable, helpful approach to understanding, unpacking, and un-layering it in a way that still preserves Catcher's amazing essence as a coherent and extraordinary story. I'm impressed.

A Separate Peace - it's actually a much better book if you ask me.
