Why is "blackpeoplemeet.com" not racist, BUT if there was a "whitepeoplemeet.com" it would be racist?

(Sigh). Look, when you (and me - I'm white) are on the top rung of the ladder and all the other races/ethnic groups have pretty much been forced to locate on the rungs below over past several centuries you don't "need" a "Whitepeoplemeet.com." You live it every day. Unless a group is advocating violence or criminal activity, they are not hurting anyone by having their own group meeting. We are all drawn to those most like us no matter what race, ethnic group, our financial standing, or gender. Our experiences are different and that can make our lives different and we like to communicate with others who have similar experiences because they are more accepting of us and we are more comfortable with them. I believe worrying about these kinds of things is unfounded and a waste of time.

Well let's see...you have blackpeoplemeet, farmers, christianmingle, sugardaddie and I'm sure there may even be an all gay/lesbian site out there. So who would consider whitepeoplemeet racist besides the news and media to build up a race war and hype for ratings as they normally do. It is a matter of choice and no different than any other selective club or group. From an early age we are taught to get in where you fit it this is why we have a selection of sports and clubs present in our schools. Heck you can't even go to a wholesale store without a membership. It's just a matter or choice and preference. Maybe an individual tried another site like eharmony etc and could not find what they were looking for and wanted to narrow it down more to what there preference is. It's no more racist than them creating a site called "gaymenmeet" if I'm not a gay man I won't find it appealing but if I were it would be my choice so whitepeoplemeet.com.......knock yourself out.

Ya'll are stupid it is racist. That's how this country works the white male is the most attacked and discriminated against. The white man can't have a white only group without being sued and forced to let everyone join and men can't have a men only group without having to let the woman join but if the white male wanted to join their groups he wouldn't be able to and he couldn't do anything about it because no one would listen being afraid to offend the so-called minorities.

It's interesting that in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom of Great Britain there have been a different history concerning blacks.

Blackpeoplemeet.com is not the only site geared towards a certain group of people. There are many others that are geared towards different races, religions, sizes, age, sexual orientation, marital position etc., such as Jews, Arabs, Asians, Big and Beautiful Women, single parents, people over 25, people over 50, Muslims, Christians, Black Christians, Senior dating and many others that target a specific group of people be it age, size, race, religion, gay, lesbian etc. If you want to get technical, Match.com, eHarmony, UpForIt, Christian Minds, Speed Date, Zoosk and many others use white people on their ads. Does that make them racist? Are they maybe geared towards whites? Who gives a ****. This post is ridiculous. For those of you who are coming out of the woodworks, why don't you go on and create a fake free profile, one for each sex, and you will see that EVERY RACE goes in there. You can also go on Match.com and many whites will choose to date only whites, just like you'll find black people just wanting to date black people, latinos just wanting to date latinos and people who don't care about race and don't specify. Who gives a **** besides small and simple minded people?

I find it comical and ironic at the same time that this site even exists. If it was reversed Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be all over it, like "white on rice". Here's the funny part:

lol I personally (as a black female) think that this site is racist. I came across this question on yahoo because I said the same thing to my mother and she disagreed. She said there is probably a whitepeoplemeet.com website. To prove her wrong, I typed it in and THIS question is the first thing that comes up lol! I'm also a lesbian and have often been asked why lesbians have their own clubs and venues. I'm usually asked this question by a man. The reason is the same that so many heterosexual women come to gay clubs, TO BE LEFT ALONE! I'm guessing blackpeoplemeet.com is for the same reason. Blacks that prefer to date only other blacks don't have to be bothered. Having a preference doesn't make you racist but starting a website that is only to be used by one specific race is racist in my opinion. Unfortunately and fortunately we live in a day and age that doesn't exclude anyone. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of white women on blackpeoplemeet.com trying to get a black man and vice versa just like all the creepy men on lesbian websites.

They are 100% racist because they take a preference and turn it into a requirement. Its not www.WeWouldPreferYouToBeBlack.com. Regardless of whether white people are on the site or not, they are discouraging them not to be. Firefly is wrong that whitepeople are on the top rung. we are constantly being watched for what we say and how we say it about other races. Any other race can say what they want about us and its fine or even funny. That is a double standard any way you look at it.

My response to this is that it is not racist bec if u go on the site you would see they ask u questions about your type of guy. If u want a dark chocolate or a Carmel skin guy can put that too and even then men with various skin color and background come out or the woodwork. I would say if you want a site called whitepeoplemeet.com then that would be cool. The only time it would look racist is when u only allow white individuals to participate on such site without any other race, ethnicity, religious group etc..to engage on the site. Another thing both black and white to need really understand that slavery was a time when people on both side were ignorant and was afraid of change.Due that issue the fear build up and lead to hate which causes one color to think that they are better than the other.
