Is Ed Sheeran the most overrated artist in music?

Overrated? No not at all , Ed Sheeran is the most talented artist at the moment and he has some great songs so in my view No.

He's definitely overrated. All the things people praise him for (writing his own music, playing the instrumentals, singing w/out autotune) were a normal thing for music before the 21st century. You guys are pretty much praising him for doing the bare minimum a 70's/80's musician would do.

The greatest talent out today lies in under appreciated prog rock, prog metal, and jazz bands that are left under the radar because they are not "easy to listen to"

I think you cant compare anyone from now to the past artists, past songwriters were in a different class, but eds probably good for the time, I mean its easy to be a bully in a playground of wimps.

I think hes one of the least overrated artists in music, he can sing, he writes his own songs, plays his own music...all of which are surprisingly quite rare in this day and age...he is where he is because the people love him! he doesn't write or sing about what is considered to be popular, its all really down to earth and honest. so after that major essay of an answer, the long and short of it is...no, i don't think he's overrated at all.x

Ed writes most of his songs himself, and he's got a lot of soul which is rare for someone of his age. His music is not the typical sugar coated pop that is normally produced nowadays. It's different.

I don't think he's the most overrated tbh. he's ok but I don't listen to him really. I think he has a talent. I think people like Katy Perry and Adele and Lady Gaga are overrated but that's just my opinion.

No that would have to be Jessie J, Katy Perry, Lana Del Ray and Pixie Lott.

Sheeran is ok, at least he can play guitar.

I thought so too, until i listened to some of his raw videos on youtube. Look up Wayfaring Stranger, it's shows how natural his voice is. He kind of beatboxes too haha

Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Gaga, One direction.......I could go on. They're all garbage.

yes he is extremely overrated and highly unoriginal. All his songs are just boring and depressing, he is only popular because the general public are all idiots and like whatever awful music is also in the charts
