Transmission/Engine mount bushing replacement HELP HELP?

02 Town & Country, 3.8. Went to a transmissions specialist. They dropped & rebuilt the transmission. Gave me 1 yr warrenty. Same day took it to get an oil change at another location complete with a full check. Was told it needs an engine/transmission transaxle mount front bushing. Its hitting metal to metal. I went back and was told it will be 55.00 to replace it.

Isn't that included in rebuilding transmission? I should not have to pay for this.....

when you give your answer let me know your experience, if you are a mechanic and if you can what company.

A transmission rebuild usually only includes removal, internal components of the transmission, and re-installation.

Damaged/broken/missing mounts, bushings, linkages, etc. that are exterior to the transmission will usually be extra unless otherwise agreed to when getting a quote for the work.

This interest could fee you approximately $250.00 and can be executed in 3 Hrs.you ought to have the two inner tie rod bushings replaced on the comparable time to do the interest good. Moog has a 2 piece layout substitute bushing kit (Pt.#ok-7349).the internal tie rod bushings on an excellent form of Chrysler vehicles have this comparable concern.while those bushings pass undesirable the vehicle possibilities up a shake and would not steer good in any respect and can be risky to tension till repaired. The bushings hook up on the middle of the Rack & Pinion guidance unit. And confident you will could desire to have your front Alignment adjusted after changing the bushings so as which you do not initiate ruining your tires.Take your vehicle to a front end shop it relatively knows adjusting those bushings.don't be afraid to ask. sturdy success!

Hi Sweetie, I did ask my S.O. of 22 yrs. your question. He has done TONS of work on various vehicles himself & has quite a bit of knowledge. Without telling him any of the other answers you have, he quoted #2's ans. almost word for word, & the last thing he said was the ans. #1 also gave you that they at least should have told you what else needed to be done & not let you leave thinking EVERYTHING was ALL taken care of. He also said that even tho you had a floor jack, you'd still need someone who KNEW what they were doing in order to do the job rite & complete...best to you...:)

  • Transmission shops are specialists -- inside the can only. They aren't general technicians. You can replace the bushing yourself, if you have a decent floor jack.
