Don't Catholics realize their religion is man made?

It wasn't until the year 1950 that Pope Pious XII decided to make the Assumption of Mary an official Catholic doctrine, a doctrine not found anywhere in the Bible.

Exodus 20:4,5 couldn't be any clearer that even BOWING down to a statue is idolatry. Yet, Catholics foolishly claim that they are not worshipping the statues they are bowing down to. BUT, God forbids us from even bowing to statues.

In fact, the Bible is so clear on this matter that the Vatican has even REMOVED the second of the Ten Commandments to deceive you.

No wonder 1st Timothy 4:2 states, "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." Everything that the Catholic Church has taught you is twisted, corrupted, and damnable!!!

Can't catholics see that!?

I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. (John 16:12-13)

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

We instruct you, brothers, in the name of (our) Lord Jesus Christ,to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. (1 Corinthians 11:2)

The Catholic Church does not use Holy Scripture as the only basis of doctrine. It could not. The early Catholic church existed before and during the time that the New Testament was written.

There were hundreds of Christian writings during the first and second centuries. Which New Testament writings would become official was not fully decided until about 400 C.E.

Catholics believe that the Holy Spirit was guiding the early church (and is guiding the church today) to make the correct choices about things like:

    • The Holy Trinity (which is also only hinted at in the Bible)

    • Going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday (which is actually directly against one of the Ten Commandments)

    • The Communion of Saints

    • Which writings include in the New Testament?

Things that are even more modern like

    • Slavery is bad. Slavery is never declared evil in the Bible. This was one of the justifications for slavery in the Confederate States.

    • Democracy is good. The Bible states that either God should be the leader of the nation like Israel before the kings or kings should be the leader, "Give to Caesar that which is Caesar's." This was talked about a lot during the American Revolution.

This second source of doctrine is called Apostolic Tradition.

Do Christians who do not allow the continuing guiding force of the Holy Spirit to make their beliefs more and more perfect, still endorse slavery as Colossians 3:22 commands, "Slaves, obey your human masters in everything"?

<Don't Catholics realize their religion is man made?>

It's not, Catholicism was founded on St Peter by Jesus Christ.

<It wasn't until the year 1950 that Pope Pious XII decided to make the Assumption of Mary an official Catholic doctrine, a doctrine not found anywhere in the Bible.>

Often, something is made official when it comes under question. Especially if the belief has been long lasting. This is true with the dogma of the Assumption, as well as others. Christians believed in the Trinity before it was explicitly defined as Dogma in the Nicene Counsel 4th Century A.D., that doesn't make it any less true.

<Exodus 20:4,5 couldn't be any clearer that even BOWING down to a statue is idolatry. Yet, Catholics foolishly claim that they are not worshipping the statues they are bowing down to. BUT, God forbids us from even bowing to statues. >

Exodus 20:4-5 makes it clear that worship of a statue is idolatry. This is true. But what Catholics do is not worship. You may kneel in prayer when you pray, but that does not make the thing before you an idol. Even if you are kneeling before a bible you were just reading, or a cross that you have in your house to remind you of Jesus. These things are not idols.

<In fact, the Bible is so clear on this matter that the Vatican has even REMOVED the second of the Ten Commandments to deceive you. >

Not true. The Ten Commandments are not numbered in Scripture. Interpretation of the numbering can change. The commandmant against worshiping idols is part of the 1st commandment that warns against false gods. Idols are false gods.

<No wonder 1st Timothy 4:2 states, "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." Everything that the Catholic Church has taught you is twisted, corrupted, and damnable!!!>

There is no teaching of the Church that is not founded in Scripture. We do not believe in Scripture alone, but every teaching is partially contained in Scripture at the very least.

    God Bless

"Don't Catholics realize their religion is man made?"

Yes, by the God/man Jesus Christ.

"It wasn't until the year 1950 that Pope Pius XII decided to make the Assumption of Mary an official Catholic doctrine, a doctrine not found anywhere in the Bible.'

It was the belief and teaching of the Church from he beginning. It was confirmed by Pope Pius XII and not decided. As the Bible says not all teaching is contained in the Bible. Instead it is the Church with the teaching authority where all truth is found in all its fullness.

"Exodus 20:4,5 couldn't be any clearer that even BOWING down to a statue is idolatry. Yet, Catholics foolishly claim that they are not worshipping the statues they are bowing down to. BUT, God forbids us from even bowing to statues."

What is forbidden is not bowing but bowing to idols. A staue is not necessarily a idol but instead it is nothing more than religious art tht reminds us of God and the call of devotion to God.

"In fact, the Bible is so clear on this matter that the Vatican has even REMOVED the second of the Ten Commandments to deceive you."

Nonsense!! The Church forbids idolatry in any form. To practice idolatry is to cease to be Catholic.

"No wonder 1st Timothy 4:2 states, "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." Everything that the Catholic Church has taught you is twisted, corrupted, and damnable!!!"

Nonsense! Jesus was not a liar when He said that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. The Bible speaks the truth when it calls the Church the "pillar and foundation of the truth". It seems as if you cannot endure the sound doctrine of the Church and have chosen to seek false teachers instead that satisfy your itching ears. This is prophesied in Scriptures. May the Lord have mercy on you. God bless!

Catholicism is a man-made religion. That man just happens to be Jesus Christ (who is also God).

1950 is the year that the Assumption was formally defined - but the teachings related to it existed from the early Church (http://www.staycatholic.com/ecf_assumption.htm). The Bible clearly says it doesn't include everything that Jesus did is explicit in the bible (John 21:25) so that it isn't explicitly stated doesn't mean that it's didn't happen. The Assumption is simply the first instance of resurrection: something all believers will one day attain and is a very biblical concept.. This article provides some biblical evidence for you:

    http://socrates58.blogspot.com/2007/03/answers-for...

Exodus 20:5 is not about God telling people not to bend at the waist - it's about telling people not to worship statues. To think otherwise is taking the biblical verse out of literary and historical context and you're missing the important message the Holy Spirit is trying to share with you. Not all bowing is worship - like in Psalm 138:2 David bows before God's Holy Temple. David is not worshiping the temple, he is worshiping God. Catholics don't worship statues.

Catholics don't see what you see because the Catholic Church has the guidance of the Holy Spirit whereas you just have your own limited and fallible interpretation (or misinterpretation).

If your announcement is right, you then might no longer be asking this question. Because you're asking this question proves that there's a God. All guys worship some thing. Whether or not it's themselves, their appetites, the planet earth, a tree, the celebs, the satan, or anything else proves that guy is greater than flesh and blood but additionally spirit. Unfortunately you're spiritually useless and can't realize the matters of the spirit. Pontius Pilate requested Jesus "what's fact" even though Pilate used to be staring correct at fact (Jesus) however might no longer realize the reality for the reason that Pilate lived in deception. The global is blind, dumb, and deaf. Spirit offers lifestyles to spirit, and God is the creator of that spirit. Read John three to try to realize this, however you frequently may not. You have to be born once more to go into the dominion of heaven. You have to repent of your sins in opposition to God and believe Jesus to avoid wasting you. If you do not then God goes to be your pass judgement on no longer your savior. If guy used to be going to put in writing a holy ebook it certain would not be the Bible. The Bible used to be written over one million,500 years by way of forty one of a kind authors spanning three continents. Yet the message is the identical. The historic testomony is God's promise to defeat demise. The new testomony is how God did that.

All holy texts where man made. The Bible had to be gathered and compiled, choices made about what should be in and what shouldn't. Orders changed to hide the editing, the additions to Mark (the short ending Mark being earliest gospel BTW), and how a lot of it was based on Homers Odyssey*.

The only none man made religion would be one that didn't get "revealed" through men. The same book would have miraculously appeared all over the world at the same time, perfectly translated into all languages, no ambiguities or room for different interpretations of meanings etc...

If any gods exist they obviously prefer man made religions as they have refused to supply anything else.

*Hence why Jesus spends so much time on boats in Mark But to begin with this wasn't actually an act of dishonesty, at the time it was written it was a common literary device to fit new stories into the well known framework of old ones. Fiction and factual accounts alike.

even if a person wanted to criticize the Catholic church on first Timothy four-two The assumption of Mary ,bowing down to statues has nothing to do with the context of 1 Tim. 4:2 , there is nothing to see above in connection with 1 Tim. 4;2's context . 1 Tim 4;2 warns of moralizing against things that grow , opium ,cocaine, marijuana ,as well as health food freaks who make it immoral to be of strong conscience say on eating beef, also forbidding to marry (Greek here gamete) the Greek concept is broader than formal marriage , - judging on such issues ,hypocritical for human beings to do (Romans 2:1) is nevertheless inspired by Demons and devils to motivate modern ' Molly Hatchets '- contributing to and creating confusion on True Religion concerns .

Do not worry about what the catholics believe or teach. Our walk is to be with Jesus. All those who follow Jesus and do the will of the Father will go to Heaven, so be sure you are following Jesus.

All those who say they are following Jesus but are not will be judged by God and cast into Hell for not following Him.

So don't worry about the catholics. There is nothing the catholic church can do to keep the elect of God out of Heaven.

Don't you realize that it was a Catholic council that decided on the contents of the New Testament? Look it up if you don't believe me; it's a matter of historical record and is not contestable. If you think we are in error, you are in the same boat as us my friend because you are using our book.
