I want to buy a new bike costing from $300 to $360 max. Please give me some good advice and choices.?
I want disc brakes on the bike but I don't care if its steel or aluminum or alloy. I also want to have a known brand. I was thinking about the IRON HORSE Maverick 2.2 but I'm not sure. I need it to be a mountain bike, but I am not going to do stunts or any true off-roading. Its just through parks, maybe dirt and rocks. It can be a hardtail or a full suspension. I don't really want to buy through departmental stores but I may have no choice. I also looked into KHS bikes but don't know where to buy it from. Will my local bike dealer order the bike even though he doesn't sell them?

You will not get a full suspension in decent condition for that price, but you can find hardtails in good to great condition at times for that price. I picked up a Trek 4300 for $350 a few months back that wasn't even ridden enough to get show any wear on the tires. The chain was rusted up from spraying down after each ride without oiling. It was a previous year model, but was only 8 months old when I got it. Bikes like that will be excellent for park rides. Even though the components are low end mountain or road spec, they are more than capable of handling the abuse dished out by improved trails for years without issue.
Discs are nice, but if you are only going for park rides, you can do without them. Disc brakes excel when the conditions are really muddy, and are only a consideration for that or if you do significant downhill riding, like down mountain roads on a daily basis. That said, disc brakes are only just starting to be seen on road bikes, and we've been riding them down long mountain roads for a century or more.

Don't waste your money on a full suspension since you'll never use it. Get more for your money and by a hardtail but for $360 it won't be much. Iron Horse is a good bike, if you can get it or a decent used bike for that money go for it.

You need to save, you won't get any decent bikes with what you're looking for with that money, you might find it used if you're lucky.
