I'm trying to lose weight so I can become a marine. Please help!?

Okay so I'm eatin less and I cut out junk food do that's good, one day a week I go to a pool function (basically boot camp) and run 2 miles and do as many pull ups as I can which is .5. I been lifting weight for two days now (2-28-12) an I weighed my self today (2-28-12) and am currently 204 and I'm 5"6 5"7 and I'm a male is there any other advise anyone could give me preferably a guy, that could help me with what they do (did) or any websites that could help me? Ps. I'm 16 and a junior so I have a year and a half before the marines.

    Congrats on your decision!

My fiance is a Marine and I remember to get ready for boot camp he would run a LOT and do a lot of pull ups. He was already really fit but he kept working at it to improve. Working out is huge in the Corp and in boot camp you will run a LOT. And I mean a LOT. A lot of running up and down steep inclines while carrying a lot of stuff which adds up a **** load in weight. In the words of my fiance in one of the letters that he wrote to me while in boot "it's absolute HELL here".

I advise talking to your recruiter with what you can improve on. By the way, the pt you are doing now isn't anywhere near as challenging as what you will face in bootcamp. I know you may not take what I say seriously since I'm not in the Corp and I'm female, but I saw my fiance and his best friend prepare for boot and both were very different when it came to how they were physically. My fiance's friend was very out of shape and they trained together by doing a lot of sit ups in a short amount of time, running and trying to do it as quickly as they could because when you get in boot camp they will make you run and time you and if you don't finish within the time they give you then you will be put in what they call the "fatty platoon" for "fatties". So I recommend, by what I have seen and heard, to work on your run time, pull ups, and get used to drinking a **** load of water. My fiance and his platoon once had to drink so much water at one time that they all threw up and even after that they still had to drink more. Boot camp will be the worst 3 months of your life, but its worth getting the title at the end.

    Good luck
