i have a 98 honda civic EX and the driver side window and backseat window wont roll up or down... when i push i button, i hear the motor going but the window doesnt move, what can cause this? also the driver door does not open from the inside... the previous owner said the window fell off the track and must have mess up the door handle .. is that possible? the door willl open from the outside but not from hte inside, its pretty frustrating trying to reach through the back window to get out of the car..

You already answered your question. The window fell off track, and yes might of helped detach something that lets you open the door from the inside.

i doubt the door handle mess up ,unless the previous owner tried to fix it and screwed up.check out your inside off the door most likely your plastic teeth that are like a chain broke off that catches on to the motor and there is a gap.so if you hear the motor it s good but the plastic band that pulls down and rises the window might be shot.you got to take the inner panel out and check it out.you can move the band but carefully ,once the teeth catches on the window should rise or go down,or loosen the motor and get the band to where the motor is able to grab on the band.as for track adjust it by lifting it to it catches on even check the brace on it if broke.there is a bar that moves the window that supports it,that moves it up and down along with all i mention of components.

Source(s): i had a car window ,the motor was good but the band was missing some teeth.
