Those cars are very nice, but also rare, they are worth more because they look good, not just cos theyre rare. If you are going to buy a classic, its actually wise spending more at the beginning, classic cars dont tend to lose value unless you buy a popular car which then goes out of fashion. If ou buy a really cheap car there is likely more work needed doing, altho all classics will need work sooner or later, but if youre handy with a spanner and keen to learn theres alot you can do yourself.
My forte is more modern cars, so I cant really help with model names, but 'good looking' can mean 100 different things to 100 people. I recommend having a browse through classiccarsforsale.co.uk, they have cars from all over eirope, but the advanced search lets you specify location and price, so you can look at cars that you can afford. If you spot anything you like the look of make a note and do some research, are there any others for sale? do they have a good owners club with parts readily available (and cheap!)? how much will insurance be - many classics will entitle you to classic insurance, although its still worth checking the normal insurance sites as there are some v competitive companies out there atm. Ebay is also a very good place to look as you really can find all sorts on there. To keep your costs down, go for something reasonably popular - parts should be easy and advice on how to fix it yourself shouldnt be hard to find. Try and get something with a smallish engine, i would say upto 1.5ish, older cars were less powerful, but also lighter, so even sporty cars often had small engines. A british car will be your best bet as there are loads about, and there were many british sports cars with smallish engines. If you fancy a convertible try the triumph spitfire, should be able to get one of them under £2k, or theres an MG B if you like the looks (i dont) engine is a bit bigger but theyre cheap to buy and there are so many about parts are easier than many new cars! just keep browsing til you see something that fits what you want

Those cars are quite unique and quaint-looking! =) not the ones I would've had in mind, haha. I'm still not sure exactly what kind of body styling you're looking for, but I drive a Celica and absolutely love it! The MPG is great, minimal maintenance, great value & reliability, fits in any parking space, looks sexy. Insurance isn't bad either.
