Not with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It continues to be one of, if not the, fastest growing Christian demonination in the world, and is now numbering in the 10's of millions.

This is a really great question and has grabbed the attention of many....Good Job!

Well, I don't have facts as per numbers but all that statistical information is not always accurate and can be altered anyway.

But I would have to say with a definite "YES", that religion is on the decline, and I believe that part of it is that this generation has become much more informed and educated about such things and they are really acknowledging the falseness of it all, as compared to the last generation, or the older one's from this generation, where they just rebelled against their perspective religions, in disbelief of it all, but didn't really have the facts to know why they rejected certain things or concepts about religion.

I just want to make clear that religion and God are not necessarily the same, actually they are nothing of the same, and only sometimes with certain people has religion actually brought somebody to the full understanding of God, so religion may have acted as a stepping stone, but thats it as far as leading people in the right direction when it involves God.

As we are witnessing a very rapid change within all man made systems around the entire world, whether it be political, or financial and economical...There will soon be a day where all religious systems too will be obsolete and their value will have been diminished to nothing and this is true, but I will not dare to put a time frame upon it, but nonetheless, it is inevitable and will soon happen !

Religion is indeed on the decline in many developed economies - across Europe, USA etc.

However, religion is expanding in other areas of the world and is becoming more and more central to these people's lives. Christianity is on a downturn but in absolute numbers religions such as Hinduism are on the rise - perhaps because this is where the population is increasing at the fastest rates!

Despite the dreams and wishes of atheists the fact is that religion is stronger than ever and the figure someone here quotes of 13% atheists in the world is way too large according to the stats I've read that put the number around 2%.

Islam is reportedly the fastest growing religion worldwide. But Christianity is also doing very strongly in Africa and is rapidly sweeping across China; it has also re-surged in Russia and former communist States since they stopped being ruled by atheistic laws that meant those who practised religion were killed.

So apart from the west where organised religion has declined in favour of people reclassifying themselves as 'spiritual' rather than 'religious' you can see formalised religion still growing strongly in all nations.

There is no such thing as "true religion" unless you're talking about designer jeans. Yes there is proof of the decline of religion. Churches across the nation are combining because the lack of attendance makes it too expensive to keep churches open. Finally the preachers have to share their loot!

Atheism appears to be on the increase only because unbelievers are more readily admitting their unbelief. 20 years ago there were just as many, however, they remained in the closet because a lower level of tolerance. Same thing with homosexuality. The ratio isn't increasing, just the fact that people are more open to admitting it than they were 20 years ago. People who claimed to believe/be straight have come clean. The perceived "decline" is really a matter of the goats being separated from the sheep. Spiritual battle lines are being drawn. Another sign of the end times.

There is no "true" religion...they are all BS.

There are mainstream religions, like Christianity, Judaism, etc. Christianity is on the decline in the West because people don't buy into the crap from the church of Rome. That said, its on the rise in Asia.

I don't think it is declining as such. What is declining is people worshipping in churches etc. Also people don't talk about religion much for fear of offending someone with their beliefs.

formal religious organizations often say their numbers decline at times of peace and prosperity and go up dramatically during war... guess people suddenly find God when they feel afraid. As for spiritual beliefs...they are almost impossible to number.

The word 'religion' means 'living by rules'

As most people do that (even self-imposed ones) plainly

    the answer is NO
