Atheists-should faith and science be mutually exclusive?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoTNT online content requires Cable/Sat subscription, right?
Obviously this is the way the networks offering online content are going. So my question is, to access or unlock streaming content, must I have that particular channel in my line-up, or is merely having a basic Cable/Sat Economy subscription applicable to access any streaming content. I'm just trying to cut my bills down. DTV went from $49 a month 2 years ago to $93 a month now...and that's with 2 downgrades in package quality to try to keep prices reasonable. If I had stayed with the original package I started with, I'd be paying $124 a month. This highway robbery needs to end.
1 AnswerOther - Television8 years agoHow do I remove hair clog from THIS old tub drain?
I live in this older house built in 1958 with a old-school porcelain steel bath tub with an old-school drain with a removable rubber plug. I can't run a barb down to the hair clog through the singular small hole inside the drain plug receptacle. Do I have to remove the plug receptacle from the tub to get at the clog? If so, what tool do I need? Thanks in advance.

I find this a bit irritating.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy are so many screen writers uneducated?
If I got $100 every time a screen writer referred to a "safe deposit box" as a "safety deposit box", I would be a rich man. I have heard the term misused at least three times in the past few days. What I want to know, is how do they deposit "safety" in a lockable metal box?
1 AnswerOther - Television9 years agoMust we endure the default to RECOMMENDED Questions again?
This happened a while back, and it bugged me then. Who gets to pick the "RECOMMENDED" questions? Makes me want to say b-bye to Y!A.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoShould Y!A be blessed by God for finally dumping the default RECOMMENDED question tab?
This has driving me batshiit crazy for 2 days.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoBroke off rear half of 2nd U.L molar chewing sticky candy?
No pain with cold or hot. If I chew food on the newly exposed gum flesh it's sensitive. I saved most of it (pulled out of a Coffee Rio©). Since there's no nerve pain from the root, I fear the root is dead and will require a root canal. any professional advice?
1 AnswerDental9 years agoHow do I restrict LAN connectivity to only my son's computer after 1am?
I just bought a Belkin N750 DB wireless router and the admin and manual don't seem to mention how to do this. The Netgear router that I used to have, was far more intuitive.
1 AnswerComputer Networking9 years agoWhy does NBC cancel great TV?
Out of the proverbial raft of shiit that network TV offered last fall, the only one I thought was worthwhile got the axe. IMO, AWAKE was one of the very few standout dramas that offered some food for thought...as opposed to the vapid schemer of unimaginative drivell and sexual buffoonery that issues forth from the infected hole that has become Must See TV, Thursday Nights on NBC. Now their call letters could only stand for NOTHING BUT CRAP.
6 AnswersDrama9 years agoWhy do atheists frequent religion and spirituality answer forums?
Not once have I looked online for communities of atheists or agnostics to evangelize with my brand of religious faith. They have their communities and I respect that. I was one of them for neary three decades. What puzzles me, is that their general modus operandi on religion and spirituality forums is every bit as caustic and vociferous as they claim religion is to them....yet they are so much more intelligent and evolved compared to their puny-minded and hate driven religious neighbors. The question I ask, if you disagree with something why don't you just ignore it like I do atheism? Why the zealous need to convince everyone to adopt your worldview? This is why so many people of faith call atheism a religion. Instead of belief in an invisible deity, they believe that their worldview (or gospel) is the end-all, be-all to universal harmony. Try again. Calling people who don't agree with you, "Raca, fool" isn't working for you. Try another tack.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAudio playing throughout pptx presentation...can it be muted for video clips?
I have added am MP3 file to play across all slides of a Powerpoint presentation. However, it continues to play simultaneously with the video clips and each video clip has it's own music bed. I can't find any control function to "mute" the MP3 audio (playing behind all slides) when a video clip is triggered within any individual slide. Is there any way to suspend the embedded audio during video clips?
4 AnswersSoftware9 years agoGaden on Religion & Spirituality forums?
You keep getting deleted because either you torqued off one person and it has become a crusade to report everyone of your posted questions. My advice? Take a powder and come back another day under a different name and avatar. Also, don't be a Judgy Joe or a cyberdoosh. Just be nice and answer/ask questions.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoHow are you doing spiritually, *♥♫Hedy♫♥*?
I am still praying for you. Thanks for your response to my answer. Sometimes, I feel like I waste my time here. Like yourself, I'm not perfect. Neither were Jesus' disciples. Hope you're doing OK. <3U
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoCreationism increasing among scientists?
Another member asked for verification as to whether scientists were abandoning the theory of evolution. Nearly all respondents say no. BUT...if you compare TalkOrigins.com stats:
http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CA/CA%E2%80%A6
in 1999-2003 to what NewScientist.com cited in 2008:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn13%E2%80%A6
...the number of scientists embracing some form of creationism has grown from less than 1% in 2003, to 16% in 2008.
