Need to choose 5 keepers? Fantasy Baseball 2012?
I can't decide on my 5 keepers. Looking for opinions/reasoning. 12 team - Roto league
Ryan Braun
Joey Votto
Andrew McCutchen
Pablo Sandoval
Carlos Santana
Dan Uggla
Alex Gordon
Jason Heyward
Jimmy Rollins
I'm leaning towards the top 5. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions. I typically don't keep or draft any pitchers early. I like streaming pitchers and go for the young phenoms who I can get late. My pitchers are:
Jeremy Hellickson
Hiroki Kuroda
Wade LeBlanco
Tel Lilly
Brandon Morrow
Max Scherzer
Edinson Volquez
Out of that group, I don't see anyone worth keeping. I finished 2nd last year so I'll have the 11th pick in which is virtually the 6th round.
I'm trying to make a 2 for 1 trade to make my decision on the 5th keeper easier. I like my team, and giving up Panda, Gordon, Uggla, Heyward and even Butler is going to be tough.

yes stick with the top 5. Dan Uggla only gives you power. Alex Gordan isn't as good as the outfielders you are keeping. Jason Heyward is a question mark even thought i think he will bounce back. Jimmy Rollins is getting old and he isn't as protected as in previous years.

Ryan Braun
Joey Votto
Andrew McCutchen
Carlos Santana
Jason Heyward
They are all pretty obvious except for Heyward, who I expect to bounce back this season.

I'd maintain Shields,Wainwright, and Matt Moore.. Longoria is a little overestimated,or I'd say maintain him.Evans' yr final season does not warrant a 20% rate broaden. But,in the event you suppose there wont be anybody well to be had at third base (It's a VERY skinny role.) then I would not blame you for preserving him over Wainwright, whom had Tommy John surgical procedure final yr. If Torontos' rookie third baseman Lawrie can be to be had then he might change Longoria. If you sell off Longoria I'd positioned Lawrie prime in your goal record. He's meant to be fairly well. Wainwright has further scale down frame force throughout his time without work, and he feels robust. But,Cards leadership desires to position him on a strict pitch depend in keeping with recreation & they desire to wholly close him down after a hundred and fifty complete innings pitched. So you traditionally wont have him for the final month of the fable season. But,NEXT season you'll have a truly most sensible tier ace at an excessively low priced rate. (Moore & Lawrie are already large favorites to win the R.O.Y award.) GL

You need to factor in how tough it will be to re-draft the players you let go..
I actually like Uggla over Sandoval; If it weren't for his dreadful 1st half numbers,Uggla would've had MVP type numbers.I think Uggla was trying too hard in the 1st half of last year, and he was trying to earn his big fat new contract. He's a lock in my opinion at the thinnest position for talent.
So switch Sandoval with Uggla then keep the top 5.

Braun, Votto, McClutchen, Santana, sandoval. If you have a top pitcher I would consider keeping him over sandoval.

The Braves are saying that they fixed heywards swing and is swinging better than he did his rookie year it would be a risk but i think it would pay off.
