What should I serve with a quiche?

I'm making a ham and asparagus quiche for dinner. I normally serve a green salad with it, but want to do something different. What would be good with it????

A local eatery for ladies who lunch make a ham and cheese quiche, and pair it with a lovely crusty roll, and broccoli and cheese soup, and a little whatever kind you want salad. It is very popular. You could think up a variation on that. See below.

You could make baked potato soup, go to allrecipes.com for the recipe. I made it for My New Year's party and once since, it got rave reviews. It has bacon and onions and real baked potatoes. There are also plainer cheese soups to try.

A non-lettuce salad might work, maybe a fruit salad with in season fruits in a bowl. Blueberries are in the stores right now.

A fancy Jello salad. there is one with lemon jello and raw grated carrots and crushed pineapple that is the bomb, and Rivers adores fruit cocktail in raspberry.

Again with the local eatery, they used to have Jello with whipped topping in it in flavors that was pretty on the plate and good. It was cut into rectangles.

My Grandma made two, one with cream cheese and pineapple in it, another with cottage cheese in it. Both had lime Jello.

Maybe a cold pasta salad, lots of different kinds. Remember that mayo, and that mustard both do well with ham. Maybe Look for salads with those in them.

Or re-think your green salad. A local eatery makes a cold bacon dressing, and pours it over dark green leaves, bite size pieces of bacon and goat cheese crumbles. Rivers brought half of it home, and sliced some strawberries into it.

A friend had a strawberry dressing, and puts that over dark greens, sliced strawberries and sugared pecans and cheese. Or do a toasted almond salad with dark greens, orange dressing, and canned oranges and chinese noodles.

And again, buy some nice rolls from the bakery like a french chef would do. Have some real butter to serve with them, or make some strawberry butter yourself [or buy it]. Lovely with the strawberry salad, wouldn't you think a theme is a good idea?

Oh, now I am hungry! I want some quiche Lorraine, any of those salads, a roll with strawberry butter, and some cheese soup!

If Rivers breaks her diet later, I'm blaming You, LOL!

Whatcha having for dessert? Real cheesecake? Rivers makes Cheese cake Supreme from allrecipes.com and Muffy, just bake it longer than Muffy says to, and I put this last one in an 8 inch springform.Oh, it turned out thick and yummy and it cut beautifully. I baked it 2 hours, and let it sit on the cabinet and cool[and finish baking] then let it "set" in the refrig.

And that is another theme continuation, match a sauce for the cheese cake to your salad Strawberry! But please leave River's piece plain. You are inviting me, right?

we serve fruit or green salad or cole slaw and a portion of bread with ours where I work.

A quiche is so rich and heavy that light stuff works well with it.
