Quick question about something in my room?
Hi, I live in an apartment complex and my bedroom is right next to a utilities/maintenance closet...the vent right next to that wall runs 24/7 and is SO loud and annoying. I can't even tell what the noise is but I had a maintenance man come in and he basically said I just have to deal with it or find a way to make it to where I cannot hear it. So, I was wondering if I could put duct tape over it to see if that would cover the noise. I ask because I don't know if this could start a fire or pose any other problems. Also, any other ideas would be welcome. Thanks for your input!

Hi :)
It is vented for a reason. I would not place anything over this for all the reasons you have already stated or more? You may want to inquire if the maint man can place some type of insulation barrier from the closet to your wall. You have the right to further inquire and I do not agree that you have to live with it as you are the paying tenant. Best of Luck
