Please verify/correct my answer for this word problem?

Im sorry but this came right out of the book and I swear I typed it exactly the way it is and yes I know it's vague that is why I'm stressing out!

Ques: 'In a regular Pad Thai dish ordered in Annapolis, Maryland will sell for $11.50. In Parker, Colorado, it sells for $7.25. How much more are you paying in Maryland than in Colorado? What percent is this difference? Round to the nearest percent.'

Ok.... so first one is super easy. 11.50-7.25 = $4.25

The next question is where I am just not too sure about.

Is it 7.25/11.50 = 0.6304347 = 63% (???)

    Edit: Reworked.

    An easy solution would be to first acknowledge that the question calls for the percent of the DIFFERENCE. Therefore, you'll set up the fraction below:

    4.25 / 11.50 = x / 100

    From here, you'll solve for x: (42,500 / 11.50)

    x = 3695.65

    Then, move the decimal point 2 points to the left, because this is a percentage

    Your answer is 37%

    Are you sure it isn't 4.25 / 7.25 = 0.586207 = 59%?

    To make it clearer, suppose it cost $1 in Colorado, but $2 in Maryland. That's $1 more. And you are paying 100% more ( double). So it's 1/1, not 1/2 which would be only 50% more.

    answer # 1 okay

    answer # 2: divide the 'difference' by the Colorado price (4.25 /7.25) = 59% more based on the Colorado price for the same dish in Maryland.

    Check by multiply the Colorado price (7.25) by 59% (more in Maryland) = 11.53 pretty close
