Use a faster browser like Firefox or Opera.
Sometimes when your browser cache fills up it'll slow your connection to a crawl.
To do this in Firefox, Go to Tools > Clear Recent History, for time range select "everything", be sure cache is checked.
Don't know how to do this for IE or Opera.

Buy a new router and pay for faster internet speeds from your provider.
