When God flooded the earth?

How did the fish survive? All the freshwater would have diluted the oceans making salt content to weak for the salt water fish to survive. Or make all the flooded water have to much salt for the fresh water fish to survive. And when the water receded then wouldn't all the fresh water lakes have a salt content and the ocean salt content be to weak? Please only answers with physical scientific proof.

Update:

Amanda. Wasnt the point of the ark to save all the animals on earth and Noah and his family? So how did the fish come back? EVOLUTION maybe?

    I am a Christian.

The point of the ark was NOT to save all the animals of the earth but all or most of the species. Moses wrote, "Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive" (Genesis 6:20).

The word "kind" in the Hebrew means "species." That means that Noah was not to get every type of dog for instance. He did not have to get the German shepherd and the French poodle. Noah was actually commanded to just get a male and female dog. Also, be minded, that wolves are a part of the canine family along with dogs. So any two creatures of the canine family was all that was commanded of Noah.

Regarding the flood, there are freshwater springs found in the bottom of the ocean. The earth before the flood had a water canopy around it. Note how the flood is described, "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened" (Genesis 7:11).

In other words, the Bible describes water pouring from the sky and the land being flooded by the oceans overrunning the land and the freshwater springs such as water flooding the land. God must have somehow made of way for salt and fresh water species to survive.

This may help you with your question.

Evidence for the Flood appears to exist in the fossil record. At one time, according to this record, great saber-toothed tigers stalked their prey in Europe, horses larger than any now living roamed North America, and mammoths foraged in Siberia. Then, all around the world, species of mammals became extinct. At the same time, there was a sudden change of climate. Tens of thousands of mammoths were killed and quick-frozen in Siberia. Alfred Wallace, the well-known contemporary of Charles Darwin, considered that such a widespread destruction must have been caused by some exceptional worldwide event.19 Many have argued that this event was the Flood.

An editorial in the magazine Biblical Archaeologist observed: “It is important to remember that the story of a great flood is one of the most widespread traditions in human culture . . . Nevertheless behind the oldest traditions found in Near Eastern sources, there may well be an actual flood of gigantic proportions dating from one of the pluvial periods . . . many thousands of years ago.”

The pluvial periods were times when the surface of the earth was much wetter than now. Freshwater lakes around the world were much larger. It is theorized that the wetness was caused by heavy rains associated with the end of the ice ages. But some have suggested that on one occasion the extreme wetness of the earth’s surface was a result of the Flood.

  • Do all of the rivers, streams, creeks, and fresh water rains that empty into the oceans weaken their salt contents? There are salt lakes that exist, Great Salt Lake in USA, The Dead Sea, and others. Over time, any salt left in lakes would weaken from fresh water run off draining into them. And brakish waters exist in the oceans where fresh water rivers drain into the oceans and both fresh water and salt water fish are found in them. So, both fresh water and salt water fishes would have survived the flood.

The Flood Story is a myth. It is based on the Gilgamesh epic. If the entire world was flooded, where did all the water come from and where did it go? Obviously the story is made up.

Well, in the form of metaphysical idealism, "God" does wonders such as making fish survive in salt water, as Christians would say.

But you also have to understand that arguing against religion with science doesn't really work, because religion rejects science by it's very nature.

    You want scientific proof ?

Well, you prove that the oceans were salty before the Flood.
