You seem to think that republicans have no chance but at this same time in 2008 people were saying the same thing about Obama's chances against Hillary Clinton.

If you look at the average polling data for Obama against the republican field you will see that Obama is virtually tied with everyone of the the candidates except for Newt Gingrich. These polls have a margin of error of 3 to 4 percentage points.

Obama leads Romney by 4.7 points, Santorum by 5.2 and Ron Paul by 6.6.. Did you know that at this same time in 2008 Hillary Clinton was leading Obama by 11.8 points?

You seem to forget that Obama has not yet debated any of these candidates so there is not really much to compare the two against. Once the debates start you will see the polls shift, it will either get wider for Obama or Obama will be the underdog.

All I know for certain is that with the unemployment rate above 7.2% no sitting president has ever been re-elected and of course no president in history has outspent Obama. He has already surpassed the entire 8 years of GWB and that is saying a shlt load.
