Can anyone recommend some sci-fi/action books to read?

I'll be honest, i do not read much, because i have a hard time getting into a book.

im looking for a sci-fi/action book, with few slow spots, and lots of action. im 22 years old if thats relevant.

recently ive read Abraham lincoln: vampire hunter, and it was a little slow for me, but not too bad and a really good book.

currently im debating between starcraft:liberties crusade as ive played every starcraft game, and the hunger games, which seems very popular.

im open to suggestions too.

Thanks in advance

Update:

Good suggestion smkeller, not the answer i was looking for, but i will look into it

Update 2:

war novels are welcome too

The Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn. It's a murder mystery set in a spaceship. There's a saboteur and murderer aboard as the equipment constantly malfunctions, a crew member dies and another nearly gets killed. Meanwhile, authorities across the galaxy are on their trail, eager to intercept the mysterious cargo the ship is carrying.

The Dragonback series by Timothy Zahn. This is a young adult sci-fi/ action series. The first book is called Dragon and Thief.

Hunger Games is a good read. Try Robert Heinlein's TUNNEL IN THE SKY or any of his other works.

I would get a list of Hugo and Nebula award winners and just start reading all their books. They didn't win those awards for being lousy writers.

    Try neuromancer
