Can anyone please prove to me that LOVE exists?

Everyone knows that love exists, but what physical proof can you show that it does? People saying that they love is not prove of it. Quite obviously it cannot be "proven".

So why do so many atheists ask the equally silly question that they want "proof" of God when you cannot prove something which you KNOW exists to actually exist? And by the way, if you asked the vast majority of Christians, they would agree with John in 1Jn 4:16: "God IS love. He who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him."

Update:

R-Truth: Of course "God" is abstract. No one can point to Him and say there He is!. One cannot physically prove a spiritual truth. It is silly to ask.

Update 2:

Gazoo: Somehow this is the sort of response (or rather non-response) I would expect.

Update 3:

Pytr: So your comment is basically saying that only physical things exist. Wow. I guess you live life in a vacuum. Talk about bending over backwards to avoid a question for which you have no answer!

Update 4:

Glutton: So do you deny that love exists? Won't get far with that one.

Update 5:

Thinkaboutit: Really? What physical proof can you give me? What evidence proves that love is real? How can you measure something which is not measurable?

Update 6:

? : That certainly may be proof for yourself, but you cannot use that as proof for someone else. In the exact same way people belief in God because they have seen His actions in their lives. It is proof enough for them, but not proof from anyone else.

Well to me love is something i know is "real" because i have experienced it. I love my family and I love my friends and i can feel the love i have towards them. Personally i have never experienced anything that would lead me to believe in a god. Maybe others have, just not me. So as of right now, of course i believe in love. I'm open to the idea that there may be a god, but i just don't know yet.

Love is an abstract concept; emotions are impossible to prove. God, especially under Christian definition, is not an abstract concept, but rather a being of sorts, and thus falls under different qualifications. It's more like asking if Bigfoot exists; possible, but no real proof either way.

    Not an atheist, just sayin'.

What are you trying to ask? I can prove to you that love exists by the way I care for my family and friends and how they care for me. The proof is in the living and the experience. Don't tell me that love cannot be proven. It is all around us in a multitude of ways.

I could prove love exists because it is measurable. I actually develop these measures and research non-physical constructs professionally.

    love does not exist,

according to most definitions, love is not a thing, and does not exist

in addition, it's pretty clearly just a result of normal brain functions including memory, intention/conscious thoughts, subconscious and unconscious processes, but is not really a separate mental state that could be referred to as "existing".
