Your first spelling is the correct one.
As to the pronunciation, in school, I had always heard it pronounced as though it were English -- "KRAY-mer." But in college, I had a Math professor who told us it was actually pronounced, "kruh-MEER."
Gabriel Cramer (1704-1752) was Swiss by nationality. Switzerland has 4 main language cultures -- from most to least numerous, they are:
• German (most),
• French,
• Italian, and
• Romansch (a tiny percentage).
From the name (his father's name was Jean), he was apparently of the French segment of Swiss culture. That would seem to argue in favor of something more like, "krah-MAY." But I've *never* heard it that way.
So I go with what my math prof told us, but I'm open to hearing any credible evidence, either for that or for any other pronunciation.
