Daughter very sick and now is developing red blotches?
My daughter is very sick with pneumonia. I took her to the doc saturday and they said it was the flu, today she was not making any improvement and they said she had pneumonia. Her 02 level was at 90% and they debating about putting her in the hospital but said to take her home watch her close and gave me inhalers, nebulizer, caugh syrup and antibiotics. She has taken all of these meds at some point. She was asleep in my bed I went and woke her up to take her meds and I notice red blotches all over her neck, chest and stomach. Has anyone had this before or know what could be going on? She has had a high fever since last week that has been controlled with meds but I thought maybe it could be from the fever but I am not sure??? Please let me know what you think thanks!

Get her to the hospital right away, could be any number of nasty things (meningitis, measles, chicken pox etc) but then again, it could be nothing. It's not worth the risk love, if its something serious like meningitis it can lead to swelling in the brain leaving permanent brain damage or death! I don't mean to scare you but its definitely time to go to the hospital. Also when you go, be sure to bring the meications shes been taking including inhalers etc with you in a little bag so the hospital staff can see

I'm assuming you are in the hospital, but if not, do the "glass test". Press a clear glass onto your daughter's rash. Does it fade? If not, hospital NOW as that is a symptom of meningitis.
Best wishes to you and your daughter.

take her to the hospital now, red splotches with all the rest of the symptoms is not good.
