    We're not completely sure yet.

Current evidence shows the complex carbon molecules (proteins and amino acids) life on earth uses form naturally when conditions allow for them to do so. And that RNA can naturally self-assemble when complex carbon molecules are present. And that DNA can evolve from RNA. So we have a pretty good idea what happened, though the specifics are still being worked on.

There's no evidence any "god" or "creator" or "intelligent designer" had anything to do with any of it.

    Peace.

Since none of us was there at the time, we can only speculate based on the available data. It was PROBABLY abiogenesis, but we won't be certain until we have more sophisticated methods with which to examine that data.

It's interesting though, that you apparently seem to think that someone here knows the answer to that question for sure and that somehow you were left out of the loop.

Probably Abiogenesis ... but whatever it was we know that it wasn't some punch drunk imaginary little space magician going *poof* in the night... LuLz

If the universe requires a cause, why doesn't God?

If God doesn't require a cause, why does the universe?

Gods are absolutely the most absurd thing ignorant primitives ever came up with to explain anything... seriously ;)

God is completely illogical... purely because of the 'who made god?' issue.

To suggest 'he' was always there is as silly as insisting 'he' exists at all.

Do yourself a favour and watch this video from an actual physicist...

A Universe From Nothing' by Lawrence Krauss

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ImvlS8PLIo

He explains quite simply how no god was needed.

You may not watch it because you may be too scared to even consider...

    God is imaginary ;)

One of the great unknowns that.

It was likely to have been an absolute chance coming together of some amino acids, perhaps the most unlikely event imaginable.

Fortunately it only had to happen once, and it did, hence why we are all here today.

Life stats with happiness and sorrow. A day is appear to be bright because of the presence of dark night. Similarly a life feels the enjoyment of happiness because of the realization of sufferings.

I took a sh#t.... and you're all spawn of my sh*t. You were created to clean up that sh*t but were too sh*t to take care of the sh*t.

Therefore I decided to dispose of you in 2012, which just happens to be somewhere during this very year. Please enjoy your time on the planet strewn in your own sh*t and take care.
