Wasn't the Sam Houston Toll Way supposed to be paid for already?

I heard that the toll way was supposed to be paid for by 2008, do they just like robbing people of their money, or what?

    There used to be a toll road between Fort Worth and Dallas. It was eventually paid off and just became a regular freeway. Hopefully that will happen with the Sam Houston, but I am not holding my breath.

    Continuing maintenance, new roads, etc.

    The toll road through Oklahoma was supposed to be paid for 40 years ago, and they still charge. Hoping they get enough money at some point so they can make some much needed repairs.

    I've noticed that once a Toll Road, always a Toll Road. I have yet to see one "paid for". They just cannot bear to see an end to a money maker!
