  • Can the damage I've done by smoking be reversed?

So I recently discovered that I have stage 1 hypertension. My resting blood pressure is 145 over 85 with a pulse rate of 90. I've decided that it's time to be an adult and make a few changes in my life, including quitting smoking.

I started with Hookah when I was 18, my usage peaked to about 3 sessions a week but never more than that. I stopped using shisha and begun smoking cigarettes at age 19, I averaged about 2 cigarettes a day (Natural American Spirits, if it matters which brand. Alternating between lights and full bodied packs). I turned 20 last month, and I just smoked my last cigarette.

For what it's worth, I'm 5' 11" and weigh ~320 pounds (I'm trying to work on that as well, already lost 10 pounds awhile back), I work a blue collar job so my lifestyle isn't 100% sedentary.

But in conclusion, I was wondering how much damage I could have possibly done, and if it's possible to reverse it. I don't think I feel any different than I did when I didn't smoke, but that was a long ago so I'm not 100% certain. Any answers are appreciated, thanks.

  • Bad fuel pump/filter?

    1991 BMW 525I, 115k Miles, no modifications.

Well let me start off by saying that this car had been sitting for quite a few years, and I just bought it and brought it home. It started with no problem after an oil change, new battery, and fresh gas. But then I went to start it the next morning, and all it did was crank and crank and crank. Well, I didn't know how much gas the guy had put in it before I bought it from him (he put the gas in before I got there, supposedly), and I saw the gas gauge read empty so I went ahead and put about three and a half gallons in, and after a few more tries it finally started, but it ran horribly and had no power at all. Then I turn it off and turn it back on, and then it runs perfectly. So I drove it around the block and let it run for 15 minutes, turned it off, then turned it back on no problem. So I know this has to be a cold starting issue, which makes me think this has to be a clogged fuel filter or a burned out fuel pump. I had planned to give it a full tune up this weekend (it's my project so it's not driven anywhere), but I wanted to get this issue solved before I start putting money into the rest of it.

Here's a video of what it sounds like, same thing happened today, and after 15 or so tries, I got it to start.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJdtNJhG3S0

I'm not that great with diagnostics so I'm grateful of any help I can get. For now, I'm not gonna start it anymore because I figured there was no sense in burning the living **** out of the starter just to see if I could get it to run.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Wasn't the Sam Houston Toll Way supposed to be paid for already?

I heard that the toll way was supposed to be paid for by 2008, do they just like robbing people of their money, or what?

  • Need advice from a Mitsubishi master tech?

So as I stated in my last question, I changed the timing and balance shaft belt on my 2003 Eclipse GS, and I noticed that my balance shaft belt was a little off time, so I put it EXACTLY back on the marks. But as soon as I got it all back together and run it, it's vibrating, badly. What I want to know is what I've done wrong. I followed the marks exactly. Is there an extra step that I need to do to get it back on time, or what?

And yes, it was fine before I changed it out.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Restoring an old '92 Nissan 240SX and had a few questions?

Alright so I found me a project that's been sitting in a garage for about 4 years. I understand that I'm gonna have to change out all the fluids and all that bullshit, but I can't do that until I get it home. So I was wondering if I can attempt to drive it home just by pumping up the tires and slapping a new battery in it. Because it's a forty mile drive, and you know, just like everyone else, I'm too broke and cheap to pay a wrecker for a tow. Do you think I'll be able to make it home without any issues? Thanks in advance. Oh, and yes, it was running before it was parked.

  • How much money does a Toyota technician make?

I'm 17, and I was accepted into the AYES program and was hired at a Toyota dealership as an intern. If I follow with this program I'll be an ASE Toyota master technician, and I was wondering how much I'd be making. I know it's not about the money, but about what I want to do as a job, but I grew up in a family where money was always an issue. So if anyone knows, please share with me. Thanks in advance.

  • What will people do to a guy like me in Juvie Hall?

Sorry I have to rephrase my question again.

I'm 15 years old (almost 16), white, obese, have long hair, and apparently an innocent face.

    Curious about this again.

Sorry I had to rephrase my question.

I'm 5'11", obese, have long hair, and I'm white. I apparently have an innocent face.

Lets say I was sent to a Texas state prison for 5 years for stealing cars.

    Just curious.

  • Is it illegal to enter an abandoned home or building?

I know plenty of abandoned homes lacking a "no trespassing" sign. Is it still illegal to enter these places?
