Did anyone even notice the 'great solar storm'?

I sometimes think that the news media have to make a really big deal out of everythng just to fill their bulletins/pages... (Cynical? Me?)

Update:

These things are happening all the time, it's really only the current crew of the International Space Station that have any reason for concern - I'm pretty sure by this stage of space research they will have hatches that can be battened....

You're lucky the Earth has a magnetosphere otherwise we would definitely be noticing it right now. Solar wind is invisible so you won't be seeing it unless its an aurora.

I was watching the night sky for the Auroras but had cloud cover where I live and missed out.

I had some rather nice auroras at about 0100 or so... at least in the parts of the sky that were actually clear.

Have you had any cell phone calls drop unexpectedly? I have. I'm NOT the only one. That's because of the solar storm
