Wouldn't Ron Paul have a much better chance of winning the Presidency if he ran as an Independent.....?

.....like Ross Perot or the Libertarian Party instead of trying to get the Republican nomination?

He doesn't fit the typical mold of a Republican anyways and has no chance of getting the conservative votes needed to win the nomination. I don't know why he bothers every 4 years to try and get the Republican nomination. It seems foolhardy and a waste of campaign donors money.

If Obama doesn't get re-elected I much rather have Paul be POTUS than Romney, Santorum or Newt.

Is there some kind of rule that doesn't allow him to run as a third party or is he just being stubborn? Just curious.

Unfortunately, the Independent Party is not a prominent political force in America, and is undermined by the massive indoctrination from left and right wing ideologues. A manifestation of a third party political force in presidential elections and mainstream politics would be beneficial, as it would eradicate all the extremists on both sides of the political spectrum, and restore some sanity into politics.

If Ron Paul runs as an independent the result will be exactly the same as Ross Perot's candidacy in 1992 and 1996; Republicans will split the vote between two candidates thus assuring a Democratic victory. I hope he runs as an independent. That will make it more likely that Obama goes down as being re-elected by an electoral landslide.

Yeah, like Perot: zero Electoral College votes.

Ron the con man Paul is a political charlatan.

He's a con who abuses the political process to con naive lemmings outa campaign contribs.

He raised $6 mil in one day at a Tea Party rally. Most of that he's allowed to keep.

He uses the high profile of a pres campaign to boost his book sales & lecture fees.

Paul is to politics what Peter Popoff the holy water salesman is to religion.

I hate to make this analogy but Ron Paul will be the Ralph Nader of the 2012 Republican election. Man, I really hate to make that comparison because Ralph Nader is the MAN. Ron Paul is scum.

He has no intention of being the President. He just wants his ideas heard mostly. He has been heard and should get out since he averages about 7% or so, not nearly enough.

He doesn't have a chance in getting elected at all, no matter what his political affiliation is.

Morons amaze me, they believe they can put a certain loser into a magical 3rd loser party and he will win.
