It seems a common practice in this forum to ask "why" about something that is not true. It's a real dilemma because one of the categories of response that can be reported is "not an answer to the question." Of course it's not. It's a trap.

To be as direct as the question permits, I will point out that President Obama was not born and raised in Kenya, and he has no interest in lowering the living standards of the US. He is sincerely interested in raising the standard of living for American workers. His energy policies recognize that we must make progress in developing sustainable sources of energy. We only have so much petroleum, and it is a polluting fuel. Same with coal and gas.
