Is Static IP an option on the Kindle Fire?
I have a question about Wifi and Static IP. If I create a static IP, will I get better connectivity? I am trying to get Wifi on a train, but as it moves, wifi goes away. I know the last 3 items to enter as the static IP. The subnet is 255.255.255.0 and I am trying Google's DNS settings (DNS 1 - 8.8.8.8 and DNS 2 - 8.8.4.4). I'm not sure what to enter as the IP Address and the Router settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mike
Thanks you for the reply. I am not changing my home router settings to static, I just want to know if anyone knows the ip address and router settings for static IP on the Kindle Fire itself or where I can find it. If not, is there any way to connect to wifi anytime? Maybe a program? I don't have a fancy phone, but when I upgrade, I will have a more up to date phone. If it has an option to use as a wifi hotspot, will I be charged extra?

Your internet connection speed and/or quality is not effected at all based on whether you have a static or dynamic ip address. In fact, with a static ip address, you actually have a chance at making your connection worse, or broken completely, since you don't know what numbers to use.
