Guys: How serious is he? Is he playing games?

My boyfriend and I have been together 6 months. We're both divorced with kids (he has one/ I have 3). A couple of times he's made comments about "changing my name" when we were talking about my ex hubby. I haven't changed back from my married name. (I don't know why) Anyways he's moving into my place in a couple weeks. I like the idea of living together and even kind of excited .......but is he thinking marriage already??

Only he knows. Why don't you talk to him. Maybe he feels jealous.

Figure out why you haven't changed back from your married name and tell him. keeping your ex's name could signal to someone who had only known you for six months (who was maybe still very defended after a betrayal) that you still felt a connection to your ex and were clinging to it. If you have a reason for keeping it - like, you want to share a name with the kids - tell him clearly that is your reason. Don't be wishy washy ... know what you're about. I doubt he is thinking about marriage just based on a comment about wanting you to change your name; that'd be a cowardly way to approach the topic at any rate. If I've misunderstood you and he suggested HE wants to change your name or WE could change your name, that's a hint about marriage and you should probably just call him out on it if he does it again.

I agree as well, it only concerns himself and you and dont think there's any actual advice here that can be given.

Caroline is right. Ask him, not us.
