Two questions: what do you think are the worst Hollywood mess ups in movies from books, what movies are an improvement from the books? Why?
My worst books to TV show would be the Dresden Files. Awesome books the TV show was terrible in comparison.
My best book to movie was the Running Man. I threw the book in the garbage, the movie was myriads better than the book.

worst - american psycho. phenomenal book, but there was no way any director could keep the movie true to the book. way too effing graphic.
best-to kill a mockingbird. only movie i felt was just as good as the book.
