Why do many Young Earth Creationists claim that the world & even humans were "created perfect"?

It is assumed that God made everything perfect because He is perfect. But then again I do not know if He made everything perfect, but until I know I will assume that He did make a perfect world. I sure do hope God is Perfect Love.

That is what they were taught as children and that is the belief they hold on to.
