Where can I find a suitable trigge guard replacement?

I'm restoring a Mossberg Model 30, single-shot, bolt action rifle an need to replace it's missing trigger guard. Unlike most guns, the trigger guard isn't part of the trigger assembly, but a separate piece that is affixed to the stock by two screws. Any ideas on where I can find a replacement? It doesn't have to be authentic to the gun.

Here's a photo of the trigger guard:

There should be a business specializing in parts for those guns and/or other arms.

Have you thought about calling gun shops, armories and/or shooting ranges in your area? How about emailing or calling those businesses around the country.

    Doing an online search?

How about getting the specs from a group using those guns when they do mock battles and demonstrations? Take those specs to a blacksmith, trade school or metal shop and ask about re-creating that guard.

Thanks for asking your Q. I did my best to answer it.

Yes, that is my real last name!

Source(s): On a few occasions I found specs for different metal projects. I sought-out the appropriate artisans to duplicate those needed substitutions. Once a sheet metal class at a trade school did work. It was very good quality.
