How do I get the drive shaft out of a '99 Toyota camry?

I need to pull the gearbox out of a '99 toyota camry, how do i get the shaft from the gearbox to what looks like a centre bearing, (which is also the engine mount) out? Do I have to remove the engine mount, or is there some other way to get this shaft out? It is a right hand drive, (Australian) and is the right hand shaft, It may not matter, the left hand drive models may be similar.

From memory there is a circlip or one or two retaining bolts that hold the shaft into the center bracket/engine mount. Once you remove these the shaft will slide out of the center bracket.

    Hope this helps.

    from the manual,

    http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairinfo/repair...

there's link on the side bar for pulling the gear box. but there will be some slight differences. not in procedures. but that's for N. Amercan platforms. you obviously have rt hand drive.

it's a free online manual. have to sign up and plug in vehicle info to nav from that pg.
