A joint is simply the area where 2 bones come together, like an elbow or knee.

A ligament is a strong connecting structure that crosses a joint and actually attaches the 2 bones to each other.

Neither. Joints are where the bones connect, whereas the ligaments are what keeps the joints together. For example you have your elbow joint, and the lgaments in and around the joint that holds the two bones together.

neither. A joint is where bones meet. Ligaments are connective tissues.
