What should I wear to an Italian nightclub?

My boyfriend and I are traveling to Rome, Florence and Venice in May...what should I wear to the nightclubs? Is it just regular nightclub attire, hot little dress and heels? I don't want to base my ideas off of Jersey Shore lol.

Also, any nightclubs or hot spots that are definitely worth seeing?

    In May in Rome in the evening it's warm enough, so you can safely wear small dresses, skirts and open shoes. Generally in May all the local open for the summer so you can drink and dance until late at night.     However, I am Italian, Roman ... a dress, a pair of shoes with heels ... okay. those jersey shore are exaggerated :) haha
