Diffrence between gas line tape and teflon tape ?
Besides the fact that each one are used for Diffrent things

It is true that gas line tape and Teflon tape are both Teflon, however....
While I've used regular white Teflon tape for gas lines without adverse reaction or leakage, there is a difference between one thread tape and another. Regular white PTFE is typically a first choice for water system applications and is more porous than an industrial grade PTFE. Specialized gas pipe PTFE offers better shred resistance and superior ability to fill voids in thread imperfections. This improved pipe thread sealing capability offers better assurance that volatile gases are not released from a poorly sealed pipe joint. If a piping system is conveying something gaseous then there is a greater chance that a threaded pipe joint will leak. Gas is less dense than water for example, so gas will leak from a pipe thread on more occasions than water ever will.
The informational sources I provide, lists application and dimensional details on at least seven different PTFE thread tapes.
While it is common practice to use regular White Teflon tape as the
"Fit-All-Applications-Sealant for pipe threads,
the true reality is that White Teflon tape is best suited for limited applications.

Use the teflon tape AND the pipe dope. The dope is also a lubricant to help the pipe tighten easier. I always use 5 wraps of tape. I;m an old pipeliner that used to pipefit gas wells with 1500 pounds preasure. Most home lines have about 30. I have yet to have a leak in either. Make sure you put the tape on in the proper direction or it will just peel off. With the threads facing you, go clockwise and when putting the dope on go the same direction or again you'll peel the tape off. Use a soapy mixture to test for leaks.

First neither are Teflon. Teflon is a DuPont registered trade name and DuPont does not make PTFE tape. Regardless of the color tape is dyed by manufacturers you should be interested in the thickness and its purity. Certain manufacturers started coloring their heavier (thicker) tape yellow and the their thinner tape they left white. Look for manufacturers such as Swagelok that insure their tape is made to A-A-58092 standard. This tape will provide the best seal.
Regardless of color threads require 2 1/2 to 3 wraps for proper sealing.

gas line tape is teflon tape.they are 1 of the same.you can also use teflon paste"pipe dope" for either application.both are used to get a seal on threaded pipe.
hope this helps

UK wise they are in effect the same thing made from the same material PTFE. The difference is gas tape is much thicker and only requires a single wrap over the required distance.
